Make Your Case to Change the System

Thumbnail of Video

We know there is an urgent need to change education so all of our children are prepared for their future. I embedded this amazing video below from Prince EA “I just sued the School System!” I believe teachers, administrators, parents, and kids will find that this 6 minute video will help them get the conversations going around WHY they need to change the education system. However, before you watch the video, I suggest you consider HOW you might want to change the idea of “school.”  Try what is called “active listening” while watching this video by taking notes to capture your thoughts. Consider these three ideas:

  1. Most teachers learned how to teach in a 20th century system. How can teachers shift their thinking so they are future focused?
  2. Technology has impacted every part of our lives. How does technology impact what kids need to learn and the teacher’s role in the future?
  3. Schools continue to look and operate like they did over 120 years ago. If there was no such thing as school, how might you design learning and the learning environment?

About the author

Barbara Bray is a Story Weaver, empowerment coach, award-winning author, international keynote speaker and podcast host helping people turn life’s hardest chapters into their most meaningful work. As the creator of the Grow Your Why movement, she guides women, educators, and leaders to transform adversity into purpose, clarity, and momentum.

Her message isn’t theoretical; it’s lived. Barbara learned later in life that she survived childhood polio, a truth her parents kept secret so she would never see herself as a victim. That foundation of resilience carried her through multiple reinventions, including a career-ending injury and a lung cancer diagnosis that reshaped how she thinks about time, truth, and legacy.

For more than three decades, Barbara has worked at the intersection of storytelling and transformation, helping people reclaim their voice and direction. Through her books, podcast, and coaching, she challenges a common belief: resilience isn’t about bouncing back—it’s about growing forward, on purpose.
