I chose the word “unstoppable” for my #oneword for 2023 because I’m easily distracted. I need to be more focused and prioritize what is most important to me. If I can get in the flow by focusing on one thing at a time, I will be unstoppable in 2023.
2023 is the year we can reflect on what we’ve learned about ourselves over the past year. It can be helpful to learn from our experiences and consider what we want to achieve in the future. Having a sense of purpose and meaning in life can be a necessary source of motivation and fulfillment. It’s up to each individual to determine what is meaningful and purposeful to them, and this can change over time as our priorities and perspectives evolve. It’s best to be open to self-discovery and to continually reassess and adjust our goals and direction in life as needed.
As we adjust our goals, we can take responsibility for our actions and reflect on the choices we make. It’s important to be kind to ourselves and to recognize that we have the power to make positive changes in our lives. Believing in ourselves and our ability to make positive changes can be a powerful source of motivation and can help us to feel more confident and capable of achieving our goals.
When you believe in yourself, no one can stop you.
My #oneword for 2023 is “UNSTOPPABLE.”
I chose the word “unstoppable” because as long as we are here on this planet, we have power over our choices and the consequences of those choices. The choices we make can impact others and they can also affect who we become.
A moment of clarity I had recently was when I watched “Fleischman in Trouble” on Apple TV. It was all about how our choices impact others. One comment that stood out was when Libby said something like “each day is the youngest you will ever be.”
Think about that. “Today is the youngest you will ever be.” Every moment is precious. We only have a limited time here on Earth. Right now we are who we are today based on the choices we make. Tomorrow we may make different choices or just continue what we’ve been doing. It’s about the progress we make by reflecting on what we said or do. Nobody is perfect, and it’s important to be kind to ourselves and to recognize that it’s okay to make mistakes. It’s important to learn from our mistakes and to use them as opportunities for growth and self-improvement, rather than dwelling on them or feeling excessively hard on ourselves.
Understanding our purpose and meaning in life can be a complex and multifaceted process that may involve self-reflection, exploration, and discovery. It’s important to take the time to consider what is important and meaningful to us and to be open to exploring our values, interests, and passions. This process means we are moving toward self-actualization.
Self-Actualization
Self-actualization is described as the full development of one’s capabilities, involving an appreciation for and complete participation in life to reach our full potential. However, each person’s potential is unique and specific to that person. Therefore, self–actualization is an individual process that differs from one person to the next. [Source]
There are many ways that people can work towards self-actualization, including:
- Engaging in activities that align with their values and passions
- Setting and working towards goals that are meaningful and fulfilling
- Seeking out new challenges and learning opportunities
- Engaging in self-reflection and self-discovery
- Building positive relationships and connections with others
- Forgiving themselves for mistakes and any poor choices
- Practicing self-care and taking care of their physical, emotional, and mental health
Yes, self-actualization is often thought of as a personal journey of self-discovery and growth. It involves becoming more self-aware, understanding one’s values, strengths, and limitations, and working towards achieving one’s full potential. It is a process of continually learning and growing as an individual, and it can involve seeking out new experiences and challenges that help us to better understand ourselves and our place in the world.
When you know why you are here and believe in yourself, you will be UNSTOPPABLE.
